Hi! My name is Matt Ivey, and I’m a Tax Associate in the Pensacola office. I joined Warren Averett in 2024, and one of the things I’ve enjoyed most since starting is the variety of clients I get to work with. It keeps every day interesting and gives me plenty of opportunities to learn. When I first came on board, I felt that mix of excitement and nerves that comes with starting something new, but it didn’t take long to feel at home.

During a typical week, you’ll usually find me preparing tax returns, talking with clients, or working through tax notices from the IRS and different states. Outside of work, I like to slow things down. Most weekends you’ll find me taking my son to the park or spending some time reading. Of all our firm values, the one that resonates with me most is Listen to Understand. It’s something I try to bring into every conversation, whether I’m working with a client or connecting with a teammate.
