Warren Averett is looking for an Experienced Tax Professional for our Birmingham, AL office.   The ideal candidate will possess their CPA and have 3+ years of tax experience.


  • Supervise the preparation of income tax returns (S-Corp, C-Corp, estate, trust, gift, etc…)
  • Review prepared returns and assume primary responsibility in the preparation of complicated returns
  • Assume responsibility:  Including client contact, coordination within the company, staffing requirements, administrative documentation and preparation timing for engagements
  • Participate with more experienced personnel in coordinating large client engagements, identification of problems, tax law and computer model analysis and helping clients determine optimal strategies
  • Work on special projects and oversee the activities of associates and senior associates
  • Develop and maintain quality client relationships
  • Perform advanced tasks with minimal supervision
  • Review entry and intermediate work performed by others
  • Train and develop less experienced staff
  • Assume increased Service/Job Manager responsibilities
  • Assume assigned administrative functions within division
  • Develop specialized skills within area of specialty
  • Seek out and solve client problems
  • Aggressively seek interaction with Members
  • Communicate and interact with supervisors, subordinates and clients
  • Identify additional services needed by clients


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 3+ years of experience in public accounting
  • Possession of CPA license
  • Knowledge of and have ability to research Federal, State and Local tax codes and regulations
  • Ability to research complicated tax issues and explain them to internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of/and ability to apply principals of effective supervision of staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with staff and clients
