Warren Averett is looking for a long-term contractor to support a large Oil & Gas client in Houston, TX.  The focus for this contractor will be to support and add value to the Risk Engineering team
Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, reconciling, and consolidating pipeline integrity data for Natural Gas Pipelines business unit.

Primary duties:

  • Review and reconciliation of historical integrity assessment records such as pressure tests, direct assessments, and ILI surveys to ensure consistency between project documentation and database representations of these projects
  • Review and reconciliation of historical integrity event records such as leak history data, SCC discoveries, line strikes, etc. to ensure consistency between event documentation and database representations of these events
  • Assist in the migration of historical integrity assessment project data and planned integrity project data from various legacy database systems into a single spatial project database
  • Provide support to Risk Engineering group for data research and data correction requests
  • Provide support for other aspects of integrity related programs, processes, and procedures as required

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • Experience working with historical pipeline integrity datasets such as in-line inspection, pressure test, and direct assessment records
  • Strong effective, timely, clear, and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with logical thought processes
  • Demonstrated ability for focused attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to perform all essential functions of the position including those listed above
  • Must be accountable, manage activities to keep required work schedules and follow company policies and procedures
  • Strong focus on safe work practices and active participation in the safety program
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work independently
  • Ability to successfully work in team environment including collaborative work with other internal groups
  • Demonstrated initiative and adaptability to manage multiple work tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to interpret industry and company standards and procedures
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and SQL
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance

Work Conditions:

  • Must be willing and able to work in a corporate environment
  • Extended periods of sitting may be required

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated ability to identify gaps in processes and follow through with solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to review, organize, and utilize detailed information
  • Knowledge of PHMSA Part 192 regulations with detailed knowledge of Subpart O Pipeline Integrity Regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of ASME B31.8S standard
  • Knowledge of general pipeline operations standards, practices, and procedures
  • Fundamental knowledge of pipeline integrity threats and their associated mechanisms
  • Experience with Integrity Verification Programs (IVP) or Material Verification Programs (MVP) in the natural gas pipeline industry
  • Experience working with pipeline data models such as PODS Spatial
