Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking an experienced CPA for a growing company in Pensacola, FL.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years experience (with a mixture of public and industry exposure) and be comfortable  in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly close process for all real estate holding entities and various other entities as applicable
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (or other basis of accounting as directed by management) for internal and external use
  • Provide analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to the executive team including budgetto-actual and month-over-month variance explanations
  • Manage the accounting staff
  • Build the accounting team as the company grows
  • Provide recommendations in improving efficiencies and reducing costs as the company grows
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls including establishing and maintaining segregation of duties
  • Maintain records in preparation for future external audit/review
  • Coordinate the provision of information to the external auditors (the company is not audited or reviewed at this time) for the annual audit/review, when applicable
  • Work with our CPA firm to ensure the tax returns are completed in a timely manner
  • Prepare annual budgets and future projections
  • Maintain fixed assets  
  • Prepare ad hoc reports/projects, as requested by the executive team
  • Record cash receipts and bank deposits
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and accruals
  • Review monthly real estate financial packages prepared by accounting staff.
  • Prepare monthly cash distributions to investors
  • Manage and maintain Yardi Job Cost module Prepare monthly job cost reports for the real estate development team
  • Prepare development and operational capital calls
  • Maintain/Supervise all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions 

 
 
Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • CPA Certification Required
  • 8+ years related experience with 5 of those years in a managerial role
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office, particularly with Excel Miscellaneous
