Warren Averett is seeking an experienced accounting professional for our Huntsville office’s Accounting Services Division.  The ideal candidate will have been exposed to Gov Con Accounting, multiple general ledger software packages, be comfortable managing and reviewing others work.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with multiple clients in providing high value outsourced accounting services
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information
  • Reviewing month-end close procedures such as bank reconciliations, and general ledger processing
  • Reviewing accounts payable, sales tax and business licenses for clients
  • Reviewing client payrolls and filing the related payroll tax returns
  • Ability to manage specific client projects and supervision of staff assigned to the project and manage the project budgets
  • Ability to review staff work and provide feedback and solutions
  • Ability to implement advisory and accounting services with minimum supervision
  • Ability to budget, forecast and produce adhoc reports
  • Experience calculating indirect rates and supporting in DCAA audits
  • Experience with Costpoint and/or Unanet
  • Experience with forward pricing
  • Experience with project setup
  • Experience with billing for Fixed Firm Pricing, Cost Plus and Time & Materials
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Experience in all areas of the accounting cycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA, preferred
  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • High degree of computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in an accounting software package such as QB Desktop, Quickbooks Online, Peachtree, etc..
  • Ability to meet with prospective clients and discuss our services and their needs.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP
  • Ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal guidance
