Warren Averett Staffing and Recruiting is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a growing manufacturer in North Alabama. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of related accounting experience in the manufacturing industry and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Completion of month, quarter and year end close
  • Month end close duties include:
    • Oversight and completion of:
      • Data Entry and Account coding
      • Account reconciliations
      • Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Schedule and Accruals
      • Review of financial statements
      • Recording of adjusting journal entries, as necessary
  • Lead the company’s Cost Accounting function (labor, overhead rates, etc.) and variance analysis
  • Oversight of the financial and accounting systems and related personnel
  • Assist with the preparations annual budgets and financial statements
  • Assist with audits and administration of all insurance policies
  • Review and prepare all financial statements and ledgers for reasonableness and accuracy
  • Review and prepare company cash flow analysis
  • Review current processes for efficiencies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
  • Oversee the timely management of the payables process
  • Complete projections and forecasting for future periods
  • Manage the exchange of information to external accountants
  • Additional office duties as needed to ensure day to day operations run smoothly

Requirements

  • 7 + years’ experience in manufacturing/cost accounting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and be self-motivated
  • High Attention to Detail is essential
  • Be able to work well in a laid back, team environment
  • Ability to provide guidance and direction to department staff
